The 2021 Parkland girls cross country season reached its conclusion as three Trojans headed west to compete in the 2021 PIAA Cross Country Championships last Saturday, held in Hershey.

Leading the way for coach Stephen Ott’s team was sophomore Gracie Trexler, who has only started to reach her potential. Trexler finished in 21:23.9, good for 147th place. Next was junior Jessica Price, who finished in 21:31 and a 160th place finish. Another junior, Elena Wenger, claimed 163rd with a 21:35.6 race.

“Running has positively impacted me not only physically but also mentally,” said Wenger. “Overall, I enjoy that running allows me to have better mental clarity and fitness, continuously drives me to beat my personal records and times, and surrounds me with a hardworking team that works together for success, which is why I devote so much effort to it.”
