Allentown Central Catholic High School sudents celebrate senior week

The Allentown Central Catholic High School Class of 2022 celebrated senior week Oct. 24 to 29.

On Oct. 24, seniors kicked-off the week by tie-dyeing their senior shirts in the Pits.

On Oct. 25, students held a themed dress day followed by a scavenger hunt in Masson and Rockne Hall.

Oct. 26 was Groutfit Day.

On Oct. 27 it was color day where all homerooms dressed in a different color, followed by Senior Olympics in Rockne Hall that evening.

Oct. 28 was costume day, followed by movie night in Masson.

On Oct. 29 it was senior week T-shirt Day and a senior Mass was held.

The Holy War 2021 football game against the Bethlehem Catholic Hawks concluded senior week. The Vikings defeated the Hawks 17-7.

The winners of the Class of 2022 Costume Day are:

• Large Group – Fast Food Mascots including Christopher Oliveira, Jonathan Romero, Simon Ernst and Isaac Ryan;

• Small Group – Twins from The Shining including Jennifer Milisits and Vivian Munshower

• Individual – Willy Wonka by Renna Russo.

Congratulations to our runners for their success at the cross country district championships. The Vikings and the Vikettes both earned second place overall. Both teams advanced to the state championship in Hershey Nov. 6. Duke Ebert, with a time of 17:55 and Julia Roth with a time of 20:09, medaled as individuals.

District XI 2A Championships for soccer were held Nov. 4. The Vikettes played against Palmerton and the Vikings faced Notre Dame Green Pond. Both games were held at Emmaus High School.

Vikette Volleyball traveled to Pottsville Nov. 3 to compete against Pine Grove Area for the District Xl 2A Championship.

Congratulations to our Vikette Eastern Pennsylvania Conference girls soccer All-Stars. First Team: Defender, Julia Roth. Third Team: Forward, Meredith Eisenman. Midfielder, Madi Szoke. Defender, Josslin Muto. Great job Vikettes!

Congratulations to our Vikings EPC boys soccer All-Stars. First Team: Forward, Maksym Komperda. Defender, Brandon Quinn. Second Team: Midfielder, Ben Scandone. Defense, Cole Sonday. Great job Vikes!

Our seniors were recognized at the 2021 Holy War Football Game Oct. 29 including football players, Peyton Elliot, Lavon Johnson, Doyhen “DK” Kim, David Platt, Colby Reyburn, Michael Snyder, Josh Wynn; cheerleaders, Sierra Baylo, Delany Moreno, Libby Sayegh, Hailey Semmel and Vikette, Riley Horoshko.

Our ecology club participated in a “clean up” at a garden area run by M.I.R.A. Resources, which grows produce for the homeless in Allentown and for refuge families.

Recently our Best Friends Forever Club peers visited the Mercy School for Special Learning to decorate the classrooms with their buddies.

ACCHS Campus Ministry sponsored Treasures of the Church Retreat Nov. 11. The retreat included a multi-media presentation on the Church’s use of relics that is scriptural, catechetical and devotional presented by Father Carols Martins of the Companions of the Cross at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, Bethlehem.

Registration is now open for the 2022-2023 academic year.
