Gloria Mae Martin, 89, of Lower Macungie Township, formerly of Allentown, died peacefully Aug. 25, 2021, at her daughter Ruth’s home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Martin, who died in 2002 and with whom she shared 51 years of marriage at the time of his death. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mayme (Kocher) Conrad.

Gloria and her husband were the owners of the small Martin’s Grocery Store on Susquehanna Street, Allentown, for many years.

Gloria, Mom, Nanny, Nanner, aunt and friend, however you knew her, she will be missed.

She is survived by sons, Michael (Mickey) Sr. and his wife, Jean, James (Jimmy) and his wife, Heather and David and his wife, Danielle; daughters, Elizabeth (Betty) Miller, Marguerite (Margie) and her husband, Jeff Reichl, Ruth and her husband, John “Jay” Chanitz; a sister, Lorraine Gentile; a brother, George Conrad; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. She was predeceased by grandchildren, Carol-Ruth Chanitz, Joseph Chanitz and Michael Jr.; a sister, Ruth Conrad; brothers, Harold, Jack, Raymond and Chester Conrad.
