State police blotter

Concealed firearm

William J. Teschner, 32, of Catasauqua, allegedly had a firearm concealed without a permit at a location in the 5600 block of Sandtrap Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 6:50 p.m. June 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Found property

A syringe was located in the front parking lot of a business at 6081 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported July 22.

Overdose

A person was found unresponsive at a residence in the 1500 block of Pinewind Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 11:01 a.m. July 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Investigators found a white powdery substance at the scene of the incident. The person was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.

Warrant arrest

A 29-year-old male, of Old Zionsville, was arrested on an out-of-state warrant at a location on Kings Highway South, Upper Milford Township, 9:41 a.m. Aug. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft by deception

A Lower Macungie Township resident may have been swindled out of more than $115,000 in a scheme April 1 to June 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A media release detailed the alleged crime as follows: The resident was convinced, to protect assets from fraudulent activity and identity theft, to move funds into various banks by sending cashier’s checks totaling $90,000 to entities in Georgia, Ohio and Florida. The resident also was instructed to place $25,000 in cash on a doorstep for pickup May 17 and June 17. The suspect who came for the money was seen and identified at the residence. A second suspect was reported to state police as posing as an official of the United States Department of Justice.

Drug possession

A 30-year-old male, of Allentown, was arrested after state police troopers were dispatched to the area of Limeport Pike and Hoffman Lane, Lower Milford Township, for a male slumped behind a steering wheel 12:11 p.m. May 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Disorderly conduct

A 50-year-old female, of Macungie, allegedly shouted profanities at two 14-year-old girls and one 13-year-old girl while the teens were walking along a road July 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The female was cited at her residence in the 6800 block of Hunt Drive, Lower Macungie Township.

Theft

A 74-year-old female, of Kutztown, was shopping at Costco warehouse, 791 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, May 25 when her wallet was stolen from her purse, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Soon after the theft, credit cards from the wallet were used at a nearby Target store, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, for purchases totaling $1,687.77. The wallet also contained $72 cash. Two possible suspects were seen on surveillance video, according to state police.

Criminal mischief

Ground mounted air conditioning units were damaged between June 25 and 29 at Baird Medical Equipment, 4502 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township. Anyone with information regarding this incident may call Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville at 610-395-1438.

A resident of the 2700 block of Church View Road, Lower Milford Township, found a symbol spray-painted on a driveway June 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A resident of the 7300 block of Leh Street, Lower Milford Township, reported damage to a door May 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Conspiracy to commit a crime

A fraudulent prescription was used May 29 and June 16 at CVS Pharmacy, 958 S. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A pharmacist received an electronic prescription to be filled. The pharmacist alerted state police after learning, upon contacting the prescribing doctor, the patient’s information did not match the doctor’s records and the doctor did not have an electronic prescription system. On June 16, the alleged patient became suspicious when he came to get the prescription and allegedly fled the store, striking a state police patrol vehicle and a parked vehicle with a sport utility vehicle.

In a separate incident July 12 state troopers were called to the same pharmacy after CVS received numerous prescriptions via fax from a medical office in Rhode Island. An investigation found the prescriptions were sent without the knowledge of the medical office staff and also the office received numerous complaints about similar fraudulent prescriptions being sent to CVS pharmacy locations in the Allentown/Bethlehem area. Scattering rubbish

An incident of scattered rubbish was reported at New Wave Wash, Alburtis Road and U.S. Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 5 a.m. June 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft of services

Two cardboard boxes were placed into a commercial dumpster without authorization at Fine Wine and Good Spirits, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, overnight June 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

DUI

A 41-year-old male, of Palmerton, allegedly was found to be driving under the influence after a traffic stop at the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and Church Lane, 11:13 p.m. July 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Lucas Floyd Morgan, 42, of Hellertown, allegedly was driving under the influence at the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and East Texas Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:33 a.m. June 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 58-year-old male, of Emmaus, allegedly was driving under the influence when he backed his pickup truck into a ditch along Main Road East, Upper Milford Township, 10:30 p.m. June 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was attempting to back out of a driveway and went off the right shoulder of the road. The motorist was not hurt.

Courtney Allyn Newcomer, 31, of Emmaus, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop on South Cedar Crest Boulevard at Pine Street, Upper Milford Township, 12:13 a.m. May 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Accidents

A vehicle hit a fence before striking an embankment in a head-on collision along Emmaus Road, Lower Milford Township, around 5:38 a.m. July 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was traveling east when the motorist lost control and went off the road, hit the fence and entered private property. Damage to the vehicle included smashed headlights, a dented front bumper and hood and damage to the right front tire. The motorist was not at the crash site when troopers arrived. Detwiler Towing also responded.

A motorist fled the scene in a hit-and-run accident on U.S. Route 222 northbound at Kressler Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:52 p.m. May 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A pickup struck a Chevrolet Trax sport utility vehicle when the SUV stopped for a red light while in the right lane of U.S. Route 222. The pickup was described as a newer model Ford truck.

A 48-year-old male motorist escaped injury when his sport utility vehicle rolled over on Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:35 p.m. June 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle flipped east of the intersection with Mill Creek Road and was towed from the accident scene.

A passenger in a sport utility vehicle was hurt when a passenger vehicle rear-ended the SUV in a two-vehicle accident along U.S. Route 222 South near Kressler Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:26 p.m. June 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver of the passenger car allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and struck the SUV, which was stopped. Both vehicles were towed from the accident scene.

A bicyclist was hurt when a vehicle allegedly struck his bicycle while turning into a business on Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 4:51 p.m. June 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was westbound in the 5200 block and stopped in the center lane to turn left. A motorist who was eastbound stopped to let the vehicle turn, however, a bicycle was eastbound in the bicycle path. The vehicle struck the bicycle and the cyclist was ejected from the bicycle. The cyclist was transported for suspected injuries. The motorist was not hurt.
