Backyard vendor fair July 10

Macungie Pool is open weekdays noon to 8 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The pool will close 5 p.m. July 12 for a swim meet. Pool customers must park outside Macungie Memorial Park grounds during Das Awkscht Fescht Aug. 5-8. Swim lessons are also available. More information is available at www.MacungiePark.com.

The Macungie Farmers Market is open 4-7 p.m. Thursday evenings on Lumber Street, just off Main Street, Macungie.

Macungie Borough offices are now open to the public. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call 610-966-2503.

Borough council has resumed regular in person public meetings at the Macungie Institute. The next meeting will be 7:30 p.m. July 19.

There will be a shredding and electronics recycling event for Macungie Borough and Alburtis Borough residents at Macungie Memorial Park 9 a.m. to noon July 31. Photo ID may be required. Some fees may apply.

There will be a backyard vendor fair 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 10 at Macungie Memorial Park. The fair will feature 75 vendors, food trucks, kid’s activities and demonstrations.

There will be a cruise night 3 p.m. July 17 at Macungie Memorial Park. Vehicles can start arriving 2 p.m. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

The 45th annual collectors car show and flea market will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 1, rain or shine, at Macungie Memorial Park. All makes, models and years are welcome. Awards will be given. There will also be an auto and household flea market, door prizes and more.

Das Awkscht Fescht will hold its 58th annual antique and classic car show Aug. 6, 7 and 8 at Macungie Memorial Park. Gates open 6 a.m. for walk-in visitors; show cars enter the park after 7:30 a.m. There will be a flea market and arts and crafts vendors. Entertainment will go to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, with fireworks 9:30 p.m. Saturday night. The feature cars this year are Cadillac and LaSalle.

Chalk the Walk will be held 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 14 at the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department. Artists ages 6 years and up are welcome to participate. For more information, contact Angela Faidley at 610-762-5694 or artclasses@faidley.net. The rain date is Aug. 15.

Cash bingo is held weekly on Saturday evenings at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open 4:30 p.m. and games begin 6:30 p.m. Attendance is limited to 60 people; seating is spaced for distancing. The Macungie Park Board of Directors meeting will be held 7 p.m. July 27.

The Lower Lehigh Lions will meet 6 p.m. July 13 and July 27 at the Lions Pavilion in Macungie Memorial Park.

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., offers their free community meal as a drive-up option. The next meal will be 4-5:30 p.m. July 9.

Grace Lutheran Church offers contactless monthly outdoor drive-up Grace Food Cupboard Give-Away. The next dates for the Food Cupboard are 2:30-4 p.m. July 27 or 30 when anyone can receive one bag with nonperishable food. There will also be a supplemental distribution of bread, baked goods and snacks 2:30-4 p.m. July 14. Both events take place in the parking lot; signs will be posted.

Grace Lutheran Church now offers an in-person worship service 10:30 a.m. which is now fully open with no restrictions. They will continue to offer a livestream worship service 9 a.m. Sunday mornings.
