Coplay: Seniors group restarts meetings

The Coplay seniors group meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at Commitment to Family and Community, 165 Cherry St.

Doors open 12:30 p.m., and meetings will begin 1 p.m.

Residents are reminded there is an ordinance that dogs must be kept on a leash, and all waste must be picked up.

The next concerts at Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., are Sons of Izzy June 25 and American Street Band July 2. The gates and bar open 5 p.m., and the kitchen opens 5:30 p.m.

There will be a polka dance with Emil Schanta 3-6 p.m. June 27. The gates and bar will open 2 p.m., with the kitchen opening 5:30 p.m.

The Coplay summer entertainment series continues 6:15-9:15 p.m. July 7 with Jake Kaligis and Mike Rauscher.

The free concerts are held at Community Plaza, North Second and Chestnut streets.

There is an Arts in the Plaza event planned for July 28. The Jeni Hackett duo will perform while local artists share their talents.

Coplay Community Days is set for Aug. 27-29 at the Coplay Parkway, Second and Keefer streets.

The sanitation department reminds residents not to put trash out too early and to use cans with a lid. Also, no electronics are to be thrown in the trash.
