Northampton Area Public Library: Register to pick up adult take-home craft sets June 14, 28

Adult take-home crafts will include a paper floral card with pickup June 14 and do-it-yourself paw print with pickup June 28 at Northampton Area Public Library.

All supplies are provided, so registration is required.

Outdoor drop-in storytime is held 10 a.m. June 16. These storytimes are held outside on the back lawn of the library, weather permitting. Bring a blanket or chairs.

Moving forward, weekly storytimes will feature toddler storytime 10 a.m. Tuesdays and preschool storytime 10 a.m. Wednesdays running June 21 through Aug. 9.

Teen take-home crafts will include homemade dog treats with pickup June 21 as well as pet brag books with pickup June 28.

All supplies are provided, so registration is required.

Take storytime fun to your home with our do-it-yourself storytimes. “You Are Not Small” is set for June 21.

Each storytime has a book and activity sheet with ideas that follow the five early literacy practices.

Registration is required.

Join Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as it presents the Raptors over the Ride program 6 p.m. June 24 at Municipal Park’s pavilion A, Laubach Avenue and Smith Lane.

In addition to learning about natural history, raptor identification, migration information and sanctuary guidelines, we will spend time getting an up-close look at an educational raptor.

No registration is required.

The summer reading program has begun and runs through Aug. 14 for all ages. Stop by the library to sign up and begin tracking on your bingo sheet to win some great prizes.

This year, the library will also use Reader Zone to track reading online. Use the code 784cc.

The virtual Stick Together program launched June 1.

Kids in grades 3-5 can create their own sun prints 6 p.m. July 1. Create your own image using special paper, items from nature and the sun.

The adult virtual escape room is 7-8 p.m. July 9. Work together as a group to escape from the zoo.

This virtual escape room will occur over Zoom - cameras and microphones must be enabled in order for conducive communication between group members.

Always wanted to join a book club but didn’t have the time? Our laid-back book club is for you!

From March to August, there will be one book per month. June’s book is “Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman.

There are no live meetings. We will connect via email, Facebook group and Reader Zone. Sign up on our website to start.

Craft bags with story suggestions are available for pickup for ages preschool through second grade. There is a new craft every week through June.

The library returned to full, normal operating hours June 7. Library hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays.

Computers are available for one 45-minute session per person, per day. Patrons may also utilize our Wi-Fi access point to use the Internet from the library’s grounds or parking lot. Wi-Fi hot spots are also available to check out for at-home use.
