Yard sale benefits K-9 unit

Catasauqua Borough Mayor Barbara Schlegel organized a fundraiser for the borough’s K-9 unit May 15 - a community yard sale.

With the gloom of the COVID-19 pandemic looking better, the action was fast at the tables. Most of the vendors are regulars at the annual event.

Jeff MacHose and Patrick Kerin cooked up hot dogs to keep people fed and happy during the event.

It was a nice occasion for the residents to get out and talk about community affairs. Jill Smerdon was so happy people are getting on the bandwagon to support the community pool.

“I had a lot of positive comments how important the pool is to the community,” she said. “These comments tell everyone that this is a vibrant community.”
