LIBERTY ‘Urinetown’

“Urinetown” will be presented with live outdoor performances of the musical satire, 7:45 p.m. May 28, 29 and 30, Bethlehem Area School District Athletic Stadium, Liberty High School, 1115 Linden St., Bethlehem, with the entrance at Elizabeth Avenue.

Liberty production director Judith Rivera is assisted by choreographer Colette Boudreaux, music director Julie Wydrinslki, assistant director Laura Mainiero, pit director Allen Frank and tech director Ross Makary.

A futuristic city deals with the consequences of a 20-year drought. Citizens are bound by law to pay to use corporate-owned public facilities run by the corrupt Urine Good Company.

Music is by Mark Hollmann, lyrics are by Hollmann and Greg Kotis, and the book is by Kotis.

The 2003 Broadway production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, winning three Tonys.

Musical numbers include “Follow Your Heart,” “Look at the Sky,” “Run, Freedom, Run!,” “Why Did I Listen to That Man?” and “Tell Her I Love Her.”
