Class of 2021 graduation June 13

The Class of 2021 graduation will now occur during one joint ceremony consisting of the entire graduating class.

Due to Gov. Tom Wolf’s COVID-19 restrictions being lifted near the end of May, Emmaus High School is now able to accommodate all seniors under one universal event.

Each graduate is allowed a six ticket maximum for guests.

The graduation ceremony will take place 1 p.m. June 13 at the PPL Center in Allentown.

East Penn School District is conducting a new T-shirt drive until May 21 for kids fighting against cancer. Collection boxes will be distributed by the Interact Club to all 10 East Penn schools and the central administration office.

Participants are asked to donate new shirts, sizes 2T through adult XL with tags. These donated shirts will then be turned into “zipshirts” by the nonprofit organization Zip With Us, Inc. This company makes these shirts for every pediatric cancer patient to ensure more convenience during treatments. Participants are also encouraged to pen a positive message or illustrate an encouraging drawing on an index card. These letters will be mailed alongside the zipshirts to the patients.

The list of National Honor Society inductees of 2020-2021 is now available on the EHS website. Congratulations to all of those inducted.

The girls varsity softball team will begin competing in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference championship May 20.

The counseling department is allowing virtual college representatives visit opportunities for all students interested after school 1:30 p.m. weekdays. DeSales University will visit May 20. Harrisburg University’s visit will be May 21. The visit for Lehigh Carbon Community College will occur May 24. The United States Airforce will visit May 26.
