High School Musicals: Nazareth, ‘The Theory of Relativity’

The State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton, and WFMZ-TV present “Freddy Awards: A Television Special Celebrating the High School Musical Class of 2021,” 7 p.m. May 27 on 69-WFMZ and online. Some Lehigh Valley high school theater departments are producing spring musicals in various formats. The Lehigh Valley Press Focus “High School Musicals” series previews productions.

A simple physics test question prompts a group of college students to examine their lives with “The Theory of Relativity” at Nazareth Area High School, 501 E. Center St., Nazareth.

Online screening times are 7 p.m. May 13, 14, 15 and 16.

With music and lyrics by Neil Bartram, and book by Brian Hill, the one-act collection of musical vignettes is a joyous and moving look about our surprisingly interconnected lives.

The dramedy was first produced in 2015.

Director John Andreadis is assisted by choreographer and music director Colette Boudreaux, technical director Ryan Cook, and scenic painters Ellen Schmoyer and Matt Hervilly.

Songs include “Apples and Oranges,” “Nothing Without You” and “Great Expectations.”
