Raymond R. Clausnitzer

Raymond R. Clausnitzer, 80, of Fogelsville, died April 30, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Elissa (Sisia) Clausnitzer, were married 55 years this month.

Born in Woodbridge, N.J., he was the son of the late Robert and Julia (Furman) Clausnitzer.

He was a machinist for Exxon Mobil for 25 years.

A member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield, he honorably served his county in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Tin Can Soldiers, the name of the National Association of Destroyer Veterans.

An avid fisherman, he loved nothing more than to kick back with a fishing pole and a cold beer.

He never had an unkind word to say about anyone and if you were blessed enough to have met him, you were instantly put at ease by his kind, warm, and laid-back demeanor. Everybody loved Raymond.

The most remarkable thing about him though was his heart.

The immense love he had for his family, wife, kids and grandkids showed through his piercing blue eyes and his infectious smile.

He showed up for every event and endeavor and was such a proud father and grandfather.

That was his biggest joy ... family. He will be missed beyond comprehension. Heaven is blessed to have gained such an angel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Carlene Wood (Steven) of England; sons Robert Clausnitzer (Elizabeth) of Center Valley and Raymond Clausnitzer (Charlene) of Palmer Township; and grandchildren Max, Christian, Brandon, Cassidy, Raymond and Sarah.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. May 6 at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Face masks will be required, and social distancing will occur.
