LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Writer supports Hodges, Kennedy for S. Whitehall commissioners

To the Editor:

As a longtime resident of South Whitehall Township, I have become more involved in politics in the last few years as massive developments, such as Ridge Farms, the Warehouse Complex on Crackersport Road, and most recently, a proposal to fill the 23 acres of the Parkview Motel site with massive apartment buildings, threaten to change the very fabric of this community.

The resultant traffic will overwhelm our roads, create gridlock and pose a significant threat to the safety and well-being of residents.

Monica Hodges and David Kennedy have promised to support the moderate growth, farmland preservation agenda of Commissioners Wolk and Kelly.

Unlike their incumbent opponent, the current board president, they will carefully examine every waiver presented to them and not vote for those that have a potential negative impact on safety.

In short, Monica Hodges and David Kennedy have an agenda where the needs of residents hold the highest priority over the wants of the developer to maximize profits through massive developments and waiver requests which, on Ridge Farms, were a blank check for additional profit.
