LETTER TO THE EDITOR Writer says Kennedy, Hodges will enact change in S. Whitehall

To the Editor:

In 2019, South Whitehall voters elected change candidates Diane Kelly and Mike Wolk to the board of commissioners.

However, their proposals are routinely voted down 3-2.

Instead, the incumbent leadership of the board permits dysfunctional debate and commissioner-led attacks on Kelly, Wolk and members of the public.

The majority also consistently votes to approve waivers for massive developments that endanger public safety, while rejecting common-sense reforms that would enhance government transparency.

Despite present challenges, we have the opportunity to affect change by voting for David Kennedy and Monica Hodges on May 18.

As commissioners, they will always put public safety first by upholding development ordinances, as well as providing necessary resources to emergency personnel.

They will work to ensure fiscal accountability through the completion of audits and will carefully consider how your tax dollars are spent.

They will be tireless advocates for farmland preservation and sensible growth, so that our township’s picturesque farms are not forever lost to massive, high-density developments.

David Kennedy and Monica Hodges are individuals of integrity.

They will respect others and work diligently on behalf of all residents.

With them as commissioners, we can take comfort in knowing they will always have the residents’ best interests at heart.
