Egypt/Cementon: Egypt park plans fundraisers

Egypt Memorial Park is holding a Krispy Kreme sale. Orders are due April 19 and will be available for pickup April 24.

Egypt Memorial Park is also planning a fundraiser 5-8 p.m. April 21 at Burger King, 2575 Route 309, Orefield.

Mention you are participating in the Egypt Memorial Park fundraiser when you order, and a portion of sales will benefit the park.

Knights of Columbus Council 4050 will hold a takeout chicken dinner 3-6 p.m. May 8 in the parking lot of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., Egypt.

Prepared by Lorah’s Farm Market, the dinner includes half of a chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll and butter.

Orders must be prepaid by May 2. Obtain an order form at holytrinitywhitehall.weconnect.com or via email at kofc4050@gmail.com. Forms are also included with the current church bulletin.

Egypt Community Church, 4129 S. Church St., is having a takeout ham dinner 4-6:30 p.m. May 15.

Ham and string bean soup and beef vegetable soup will also be available for purchase.

Orders must be placed by April 30.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, will be holding a penny party 12:30 p.m. May 16.

Tickets will be sold beginning April 25.

There will be more than 200 items available for bidding. The event will also feature two basket raffles, and food will be available for purchase.

Proceeds benefit the youth group.

Whitehall Lions Club welcomed guest speaker Maci Bazella April 5.

Bazella represents Pennsylvania in the Miss Junior High School America competition. She spoke about the BRAVE (Building Respect and Values of Everyone) program.

Incorporating magic into her presentations at elementary schools, Bazella teaches students to recognize the signs of bullying and how to prevent it. She explains bullying has expanded from playground fights to cyberbullying on social media.

In addition to her duties as Pennsylvania’s Miss Junior High School America representative, Bazella serves as a cub member of the Emmaus Lioness Lions Club.
