Several resolutions in their first reading received Lehigh County commissioners’ unanimous approval at their March 24 meeting.

Among those, which will be voted on at a subsequent meeting, are three professional services agreements with providers to support Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall and Fountain Hill.

Shepherd Hills Family Practice will provide medical services while St. Luke’s Physician Group Inc. will provide both medical and, in a separate contract, psychiatric services.

All three resolutions were sponsored by Commissioner Dan Hartzell.

In another resolution, the Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley Inc. will receive funding from money the county receives from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to provide assistance to victims of crimes in Lehigh County. The resolution was sponsored by Commissioner Dave Harrington.

The county has supplemented those funds in the past with tax dollars from the District Attorney’s Victim Witness fund in the amount of $35,000.

Since 2019, the county has received additional grant funding from the Rights and Services Act (RASA) grant program for this program which funds the services from Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley Inc.

Commissioners approved a Department of General Services request that the county contract with TuWay Mobile Communications Inc., for expansion of the county’s EMS Radio Communications Network, including assembly, construction and installation.

In other business, commissioners appointed Edward Schuch to the Aging and Adult Services Advisory Council.
