Northampton Area Public Library open for browsing; curbside pickup still an option

Northampton Area Public Library is open for in-person browsing. Curbside pickup appointments are still available, and computers are available for one 45-minute session per person, per day. Patrons may also utilize our Wi-Fi access point to access the Internet from the library’s grounds or parking lot.

Several new events and programs launched March 1, including the virtual sticker mosaic project, NAPL’s big green trivia quiz and the interactive children’s library.

Take storytime fun to your home with our do-it-yourself storytimes. Each storytime has a book and activity sheet with ideas that follow the five early literacy practices.

Upcoming events include “I Was So Mad” March 15 and “The Best Easter Egg Hunt Ever” March 29.

Try out our hygge handout beginning March 8, for adults 18 years of age or older. The kit includes hot chocolate, a sweet treat, coloring page, the seven-day hygge challenge and a small craft.

The virtual Mariokart tournament for teens is scheduled for March 14-20.

The library will be holding a grab bag book sale March 17-20.

There will be a moth paper craft event for adults March 22. Learn about moths as the weather begins to turn warmer. Make a moth with our paper craft, and learn to identify moths with our guide.

A bunny butt craft is available to kids in third through fifth grades and teens. Pick up supplies beginning March 29 to make a cute bunny craft for spring.

All materials except hot glue are provided.

Always wanted to join a book club but didn’t have the time? The NAPL laid back book club is for you.

There will be one book per month March through August. Skip a month, read ahead or read behind - it’s up to you. There are no live meetings. We will connect via email, Facebook and Reader Zone.

Craft bags with story suggestions are available for pickup for ages preschool through second grade.

A new craft is available every week in March.

This year, NAPL will host an online spring auction April 26-May 2. The library is currently accepting donations including gift certificates, new items and monetary contributions.
