We continue to survive all that Mother Nature throws at us, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who is anxiously awaiting spring! I am hoping for some warmer temps to let some of the lingering white stuff melt (not even saying its name to encourage more!). Our district is trying to get back in full swing and create some sense of modified normalcy for our kids.

Spring physicals for the Salisbury Middle School/Salisbury High School players will be held 5-7 p.m. Feb. 23 in the SHS main gym. Students must sign up via SignUpGenius. Please note: Any student who has tested positive for COVID-19 since their last physical must provide a clearance letter from their doctor stating they are cleared to play sports. There is a cost and any questions can be referred to Athletic Trainer Julie Nunn at jnunn@salisburysd.org. Masks must be worn at all times.

It is time to begin course selections for all SHS students for the 2021-2022 academic year. The high school counseling office has scheduled a parent information evening 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 23 via Zoom. All current eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th grade parents and/or guardians are encouraged to attend this meeting where graduation requirements will be reviewed, the course selection process will be discussed and academic opportunities available to SHS students will be presented, including Lehigh Career and Technical Institute. Please note: SHS’s Program of Studies, as well as grade specific course offerings, can be found electronically on the school counseling office’s website. When registering for this presentation, include your student’s name, current grade and the email address you would like to receive the Zoom link. Participants are requested to RSVP by Feb. 22 so the Zoom link can be sent out on the morning of Feb. 23.

The second trimester at Salisbury Elementary School will soon be coming to an end and virtual parent/teacher conferences will be taking place at the beginning of March. Conferences will be held via Zoom for students in all grades, kindergarten through fourth, starting March 8 through March 11. Parents will again be using the SignUpGenius online system to schedule conferences. If you have multiple children at SES, the conference sign up window will open 7 p.m. Feb. 25. Beginning 7 p.m. March 1, SignUpGenius will be made available to all SES parents and guardians. Please take this opportunity to meet with your student’s teacher and discuss progress and/or concerns.

Curbside meal pick up will continue to be provided once per week Monday evenings for those district learners who remain all virtual. Pickup will be provided 5-6 p.m. every Monday at SES and will include breakfast and lunch meals for that week. Drivers will need to identify their child by name and the name of their teacher.
