Kathleen Alonge

Kathleen A. Alonge, 83, formerly of Reading, died Jan. 27, 2021, at Legend Assisted Living Home, Macungie, after a brief stay. She was the beloved wife of Vincent B. Alonge, of Macungie, where they lived for the past 18 years until her death. She was married to Donald J. McKeone from 1958 until his death in 1990. They had four children together. She was then married to Richard Cerbone from 1992 until his death in 1996. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Sauer) and John F. Keegan Sr.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

She graduated from Central Catholic High School, Reading and received an associate degree in accounting from Penn State, Berks Campus. She was an accounting manager for Exide Battery.

She was an avid golfer and cyclist. She loved all sports and tried all sports; everything from swimming and tennis to cross country skiing. One of her greatest accomplishments was to ride her bike up the Canadian Rockies in her mid-50s.

She is survived by children: Maureen and her husband, Peter Gipprich, of Jim Thorpe; Eileen and her husband, John Coale, of Annapolis, Md.; Christopher McKeone and his wife, Susan (Cerbone), of Harleysville and Daniel and his wife, Lynne (Pileggi), of Miramar Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren: Kathleen (Matt) Haggerty, of Hamburg; Carissa (Dario) Deak, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Matthew (Emily) Coale, of Washington, D.C; Elizabeth (Ben) Coale, of Annapolis, Md.; Sean McKeone, of Valdosta, Ga.; Eric McKeone, of Natural Bridge, Va.; Hope McKeone, a Kutztown University student; Grace McKeone, a University of Rhode Island student; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Wojciechowski, of Greenfields.; her husband Vince’s children: John, Vincent, Theresa, Edward and Robert; their spouses and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, John F. Keegan Jr.

Contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 900 S. Woodward St., Allentown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Feb. 4 at St. Catharine of Siena Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave., Reading. Friends may call 10:30-11 a.m. at the church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
