Lower Macungie Library suspends in-person services

The Lower Macungie Library has suspended in-person services until further notice. Contactless pickup service is available. The book drop will be open 24/7 for book returns; returns must be made through the book drop. All returns are quarantined for seven days. Staff will be available by email and phone.

The Lower Macungie Library Book Club is meeting virtually. The discussion for “The Island of Sea Women” by Lisa See will be held 10:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 3.

A Teen Do-It-Yourself Mug Craft Kit is available. Online registration is required to reserve a kit. Pickup is by contactless appointment.

AARP TaxAide services will be limited and off-site this year. If your taxes were prepared at the library site within the last two years, a representative will contact you.

Estate Planning 101 by Zoom is offered 7-8:30 p.m. Jan. 25. Attorney Tom Capehart will discuss common estate planning documents as well as some bad planning to avoid. Register in advance online or by calling the library.

Concordia Lutheran Church has resumed in-person church services. Sign up is required. The worship service will be streamed live 8 a.m. on their Facebook page www.facebook.com/concordiamacungie. For more information, contact the church office at 610-965-3265 or email concordia.Macungie@gmail.com.

Concordia Lutheran Preschool will hold its annual spaghetti dinner as a take-out 2-5 p.m. Jan. 30. Orders can be placed by Jan. 22 by calling the church office at 610-965-3265.

Lower Macungie Township offers live Zoom classes in belly dancing, Pilates, help for cramped hands, Living Room FUNkadelics and children’s cooking. A safe sitter class for 11-14 year olds is offered noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 30.

The Lower Macungie Community Center is open to the public while following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. The center will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no free open gym at this time. Public restrooms are not available. Staff will be available by phone 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 610-966-6924. The yard waste center hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Yard waste permits are required for drop-off.
