Free meals available at elementary and middle schools

We have officially made it halfway through the first marking period. If your “school days” are anything like they are in my house, it sure has been interesting!

Many of our schools are starting to kickoff various fundraisers.

The first Salisbury Elementary School fundraiser is a dine to donate Oct. 20 at The Crust Pizzeria, 3043 W. Emmaus Ave. The event will be held 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and SES will receive 10 percent of your bill as a donation to the PTO. You must show the printed flyer, which can be found on the PTO Facebook page, as well as in the live feed for the Salisbury Township School District.

Don’t forget - all students in Salisbury Township School District are able to pick up free meals at both SES and Salisbury Middle School Mondays and Wednesdays. Pickup is between either 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. or 5-7 p.m. at either school. Don’t pass up this opportunity.

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club clothing drive date has been postponed by request of the pickup company due to the warehouse being full. The new date will be Nov. 21. Take the extra time to go through that closet more closely for any items that have not been loved lately. For a list of accepted items, check out www.clothingdrive.net.

The next virtual school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14.

Salisbury Township has approved holding trick or treat in the township 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30. For those who want to trick or treat, you are asked to maintain social distancing and wear a mask (so make it a fun or scary one). If you are choosing not to venture out and would still like to participate, leave your light on and I’m sure you will have plenty of ghosts and goblins stop by. Remember to have fun and be safe.

The Salisbury Township drop-off centers continue to be open on alternating weeks. The Franko Farm site will be open the week of Oct. 19 and the Devonshire site will be open the week of Oct. 26. Hours continue to be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
