Special to The Presss

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, is staging a virtual basket party from now through Oct. 28.

Visit the church website at ulclv.org or its Facebook page to purchase chances and select baskets.

Winners will be announced Oct. 31 and baskets may be picked up from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Nov. 1, or 4-7 p.m. Nov. 2.

Typically held in the Family Life Center, the event has been adjusted to keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Photos and descriptions of basket contents will be on the website.

Contactless payment options are available. Details have been altered to adhere to physical distancing.

If you want to participate but do not have a computer, a printed catalogue of baskets is available.

Call the church office at 610-767-6884 for more information.

Union Lutheran officials report cold weather will not stop outdoor worship services this month.

People are advised to bring a blanket, coat, scarf and gloves if temperatures are cool 9 a.m. Sundays.

Pastor Gordon Camp will be offering drive-through communion from 11 a.m.-noon on Oct. 18.

Proceed in your vehicle to the covered entrance way where the pastor will meet you with communion elements in a sealed packet.

Receive prayers and a blessing before going on your way.

Friends of the Parkland Community Library have obtained a limited number of Save Around/Enjoy the City books which are now available in Suite 302 of the Roma building, 1605 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., South Whitehall.

The usual library fundraisers had to be canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions and the library’s temporary location at the Roma site.

The Save Around/Enjoy the City books include coupons for restaurants, recreation, grocery stores and retail shops.

The books make great gifts for anyone, especially the hard-to-buy-for person.

If you prefer to pick up a book curbside outside the Roma building, call Lorna at 610-395-4881, and she will arrange a mutually satisfactory time for that.

Books may be obtained for areas other than the Lehigh Valley.
