Edward Hawk MacLellan, 88, of Whitehall, died March 19, 2020, at home. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Rehrig) MacLellan for 64 years.
Born in Irvington, N.J., he was a son of late Lloyd H. Sr. and Allene H. (Hawk) MacLellan.
He was a Class of 1949 graduate of Northampton High School. He attended Moravian College for a year after returning from his military service.
He was a mechanic in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He drove a cab and worked at Harhart’s gas station, PP&L, Nytronics Inc. and Allentown/Sacred Heart Computer Center, now Lehigh Valley Computer Center, until he retired. He then worked with Jay Gilbert.
He was active with St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a superintendent, a transportation program driver, council member and an usher and sang on the choir.
He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367, Whitehall. He was a president of the Exchange Club, a vice president of Lutheran Brotherhood and a treasurer of IDA. He was a part of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch group to rebuild homes in Missouri after the 1993 flood there.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Mark E., Thomas J. and David L. MacLellan; two daughters-in-law, Maria MacLellan and Debbie MacLellan; three grandchildren, Sarah MacLellan, Brittany (MacLellan) Lichman and her husband Zachary and Ryan Moses; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Benjamin Lichman; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd H. MacLellan Jr. and his wife Evelyn; and two siblings at birth.
There will be a graveside service noon Sept. 26 at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Section F, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown, 18104.
