Northampton: Food bank seeks donations

Northampton Area Food Bank, 1601 Canal St., is requesting donations for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Needed items are turkeys, canned cranberry sauce, corn, green beans, boxed stuffing and 9-inch pumpkin pies.

Items can be dropped off 9:30 a.m.-noon Wednesdays.

The food bank is following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines regarding the pandemic.

Those planning to drop off donations are asked to call 610-262-8030 to make arrangements. A receipt is available for records.

The Rev. Justin and Tamra Malone will conduct special services beginning Aug. 9 and continuing through Aug. 14 at Northampton Assembly of God, 3449 Cherryville Road. Services will be held 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 9 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10-14.

The Northampton High School Class of 1955 has made the decision to cancel its class reunion, which was planned for September.

Reunion organizers might try to plan the event for next year.

Northampton Farmers Market is open 3-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Municipal Park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue.

Masks are required.
