Stephen S. Burker

Stephen S. Burker, 49, of Northampton, died July 21, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg with his family by his side as God sent his angels to bring him home. He was the son of Barbara M. (Becker) Conklin, wife of the late Paul E. “Gigger” Conklin Jr. and with whom he resided, and Stephen J. Burker and his wife Flossie “Carol” of Coplay.

He was a graduate of Northampton High School, Class of 1989.

Before his illness, Stephen was employed by Olympic Gardens of Whitehall, where he served as the maintenance supervisor.

Fishing was his passion. He enjoyed fishing at Ranger Lake Rod & Gun Club, Coplay, where he was a member, spending many days fishing with his sister, Tina Marie, by his side.

He was always there 24/7 for anyone who reached out and was in need. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Phillies were his favorite teams. He enjoyed coaching and playing sports with his son.

Stephen may have lost the fight and battle, but he claimed the grand prize of eternal life with Jesus. He is welcomed home by the angels, family and friends. Until we are all united again, he will live forever in our minds and hearts.

In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by a son, Stephen M. Burker of Northampton; a sister, Tina Marie Martin and her husband Ricky of Catasauqua; a stepbrother, Paul E. Conklin III of Tennessee; a niece, Alicia Steigerwalt of New York City; an aunt, Debbie Altorfer and her husband Rodney of Whitehall; and a canine companion, Elvis.

A celebration of life to honor Stephen will be held at a later date.
