Emmaus Garden Club Club announces winner of annual scholarship

Every year the Emmaus Garden Club awards a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who plans to begin or continue his or her studies in agriculture, horticulture, floraculture, landscaping or other related field.

The club recently announced its choice of Emmaus High School student Sam Walker as the student to receive this year’s scholarship.

Walker will attend Penn State in the fall on the main campus in State College and plans to study plant science.

He was chosen from numerous applicants by Emmaus Garden Club members.

A member of National Honor Society and German Honor Society, he participated in cross country, winter track, ski club and German club while a student at EHS.

Walker earned the rank of Eagle Scout and participated in the month-long Pennsylvania School for Excellence in the Agricultural Sciences program at Penn State University at the University Park Campus.
