With area in Green, IronPigs update fireworks events

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will be celebrating Independence Day in style as they will be hosting Patriotic “Drive-in” Fireworks and “Dinner on the Diamond” at Coca-Cola Park on both Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.

“These firework shows on July 3 and July 4 will continue to give fans an opportunity to have fun while responsibly staying safe and celebrating our country’s independence,” said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. “With the State of Pennsylvania’s recent announcement of Lehigh County moving into the Green Phase, we are excited to allow up to 250 fans into the ballpark each night to enjoy both firework shows. This is a great opportunity to provide back-to-back nights of affordable, family entertainment for our community.”

The State of Pennsylvania announced that Lehigh County will be moving into the GREEN phase on June 26. The IronPigs will now be able to allow fans to sit in their truck beds and allow fans to sit immediately adjacent in front of or behind their vehicle in folding chairs during the fireworks. Restrooms are available inside Coca-Cola Park, if needed, for fans. Previously, fans were asked to stay inside their vehicles and no restrooms were available.

In conjunction with the Patriotic “Drive-in” Firework shows, the IronPigs will be hosting a “Dinner on the Diamond” for up to 250 people on both July 3 and July 4. Guests who will be having dinner on the field will receive the opportunity to watch the fireworks show while being exclusively on the field inside Coca-Cola Park! The IronPigs are taking reservations for parties of two or more at $50 per adult and $40 per child. Price includes parking, tax, and gratuity in addition to the all-you-can-eat menu below. Tables will be set based on the number of tickets purchased.

The menu for “Dinner on the Diamond” for July 3 and July 4 will be as follows: fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, soft pretzels, corn on the cob, baked beans, popcorn, cookies, brownies, ice cream, Popsicles, soft drinks, and water. Alcohol will be available for purchase.

Guests attending “Dinner on the Diamond” should arrive by 7:15 p.m. and they will be directed to the parking lot behind left field. Meal service will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. After dinner, fans will be able to relax on the outfield grass (socially distant from other groups) to take in the fireworks show with the region’s most unique view.

All other patrons should plan to arrive no later than 8:45 p.m. The ballpark’s parking lots will open at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m. on both dates.

The Friday, July 3 fireworks show will be presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network, Service Electric Cable Television and Gold Credit Union. WLEV 100.7 will serve as the event’s media sponsor. The fireworks show will be approximately 12 minutes long. Tickets are $10 PER CAR for July 3. Tickets must be purchased online only prior to attending. A limited number of tickets will be available. Walk-ups (drive-ups) will not be permitted due to social distancing guidelines. Tickets are available for purchase here.

The entire event will be facilitated using all up-to-date guidance from the State of PA and the Allentown Health Bureau. Masks are required of patrons who enter Coca-Cola Park, except while eating. Masks are also encouraged of patrons who attend and sit outside their vehicles and are required at any time when within 6 feet of any other attending guests.
