North Catasauqua: Electronic recycling event set for June 20 at public works site

There will an electronic recycling event 9 a.m.-noon June 20 at the North Catasauqua Public Works building, 1460 Main St. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, certain precautions will be enacted and must be followed.

In order to drop off your electronics, you must be a North Catasauqua Borough resident.

See the flier under the News tab on the borough website, northcatasauqua.org, for additional details, such as which items are free to recycle and which items have a fee.

Reminder: The annual yard sale at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, originally planned for June 6, has been postponed. A new date is to be decided.

The 2020 North Catasauqua small Town USA carnival has been canceled due to concern for public safety.

Hosted by the borough betterment committee, the annual event was originally on the calendar for June 10-13.

In the neighboring borough, there will be concerts performed that people can attend virtually. Catasauqua Borough President Vincent Smith and Melissa Brown organized the concerts.

The first performance will be 8 p.m. May 29. It features three Catasauqua musicians from two bands - Glen Longenhagen, of Common Bond, and Phil Milia and Matt Balikan, of Transmission Now. The three musicians are playing under the band name of Kerplunk.

The concert will be livestreamed via the borough’s website, catasauqua.org, and on a special Facebook page, facebook.com/cattyparkconcerts/live.

Donations will be accepted for Catasauqua Community Food Bank. A link to donate will be on the livestreamed music announcement on the borough’s website and on the Facebook page.

Checks for the food bank can also be mailed to Catasauqua Borough Municipal Complex, 90 Bridge St., Catasauqua, 18032. In the subject line on the check, write “Food Bank.”
