The girls lacrosse team did a parade for their senior night recently. Head coach Kandiss Schrader, on the day of the parade at 6 a.m., decorated the seniors’ houses so they would see them when they woke up. Then at 6:30 p.m. the team gathered in their own cars at Northampton Community Center parking lot. The families had decorated their cars for the day and made signs to hold out the windows. The team then drove to each seniors’ house around 7 p.m., when the team’s true senior night would have been, and dropped gifts and flowers in the seniors’ driveways and honked and cheered for the seniors as they came outside. Despite the unfortunate way of having to honor the seniors, Schrader said, “It was tons of fun and I think the seniors loved it.” Look for more on the girls lacrosse team in future issues.
