Municipal mandate: Northampton Borough

Following suit with many other municipalities in the region, Northampton Borough is closing its municipal building to the public during normal business hours.

According to the borough’s website, this closure is for the protection of the borough’s employees and community in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The closure will continue until further notice.

Other borough services such as public works, garbage collection and the police department remain in effect.

According to the borough’s website, all residential rental unit inspections are suspended until April 1.

The borough’s recreation center also remains closed to the public, including the fitness center and basketball courts. Following a state mandate, Northampton Area Public Library canceled all events and shut down services until March 29.
