Darlene F. Stella, 82, formerly of Whitehall, died Feb. 17, 2020, at VNA Hospice House at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Dr. Joseph W. Stella, D.O.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Arlene (Heimbach) Fink.
She was a 1958 graduate of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
She worked for the former Allentown Osteopathic Hospital for 32 years. She then worked for Fellowship Community for eight years before she retired in 1998.
She was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Western Salisbury Church, Allentown, where she was a former council member and a Stephen minister.
She is survived by three sons, Paul VanNorman of Allentown, James Stella of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Joseph W. Stella Jr. of Friday Harbor, Wash.; two daughters, Karen VanNorman of Caldwell, N.J., and Katherine Stella of Acampo, Calif.; a son-in-law, John Tirpak Jr. of Whitehall; a grandson, John Michael III, and a granddaughter, Morgan, both of Whitehall; a daughter-in-law, Claudette Inman of British Columbia, Canada; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Fink of Ocala, Fla.; an aunt, Ruth Schmoyer of Allentown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Tirpak; and a brother, Robert.
