Emma Rose Hacker

Emma Rose Hacker, 98, died Feb. 15, 2020. She was the wife of the late Louis Raymond Hacker.

Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Ignatius and Agnes Stangl.

She was a seamstress in the garment industry in Northampton.

She was a parishioner at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and a supporter of the church’s annual homecoming picnic.

She volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, assisting and supporting aging nuns and volunteered to help the poor and homeless.

In 2019, she attended and was recognized as the oldest living resident during Coplay’s 150th birthday celebration.

She is survived by two sisters, Margaret and Helen, both of Whitehall; a brother, Alfred of Allentown; three children, Carol Ann Richter and her husband Don of Severna Park, Md., Gary of Annapolis, Md. and Karl and his wife Carmen of Annapolis, Md.; three grandchildren, Lauren, Evan and Andrew; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Theodore and Stella.

There will be a calling time 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed a Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m., Feb. 22 at the church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay.

Arrangements were made by Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., Coplay.
