LVHM Black African History display through Feb. 20

A special exhibit about the history of the local African American community will be on display at the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum during regular museum hours from Saturday February 1st – Saturday, February 29th. The Lehigh Valley Black African History Project Exhibit pays tribute to the achievements of local African Americans.

“This exhibit highlights important aspects of African American experience in the Lehigh Valley,” said Garrera. “This is a vital part of our community’s story that is often overlooked.” The exhibit explores a wide variety of topics including education, employment, and culture, as well as the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.

Museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays, through February 29; closed Mondays and major holidays. Free to members. 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown. For more information, call 610-435-1074 or visit www.lehighvalleyheritagemuseum.org. o
