Betty L. Handwerk, 85, of Allentown and formerly of Walnutport, died Jan. 27, 2020, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Louis L. Handwerk.

Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Dute) Hantz.

She was a sewing machine operator for 10 years at the former ADJ Fashions, Cherryville, until she retired in 1996. Before that, she worked in the same capacity for 10 years at Scotty’s Fashions at both the Treichlers and Little Gap locations.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Indianland.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan J. Handwerk of Gilbert, Ariz.; a son, Scott and his wife Colleen of Walnutport; a sister, Evelyn (Patsy) and her husband James Handwerk of Coplay; a grandson, Stephen Louis Neff and his wife Julie of Gilbert, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Stephanie E. and her husband Daniel Bukarau of Mes, Ariz.; and a great-grandson, Inoke.

She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Hantz; and a sister, Renee Hantz.
