Gerald S. Hutterer, 72, formerly of Catasauqua and Richmond, Va., died Dec. 21, 2019, at Cornerstone Living, New Tripoli. He was the husband of Dianna R. (Lynn) Hutterer for 34 years.
Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Evelyn M. (Snyder) Hutterer.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, earning the rank of Sp4.
A machine adjuster for Color Tree Inc., Richmond, for eight years, he retired in 2009. Before that, he was a machine adjuster and supervisor at the former Boise Cascade Envelope Division, Allentown, for 34 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Susan M. Schmoyer and her husband Neil of Zionsville; a son, Scott J. of Allentown; a stepdaughter, Karen E. DeWalt and her husband Kevin of Whitehall; and a brother, Michael W. and Brenda of Bowmanstown.
He was predeceased by two siblings, Joseph F. Hutterer and Maryann Borger.
