Joseph A. Sandova, 82, of Hokendauqua, died Dec. 7, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Gertrude (Dougherty) Sandova for 56 years.
Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Matis) Sandova.
He was a 1955 graduate of Whitehall High School.
He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1962 and spent more than half of that time overseas as a cartographer with the 6007th Reconnaissance Group at the Yokota Air Force Base in Fussa, Japan.
He was a cartographic draftsman with the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission for 36 years and was drafting supervisor when he retired in 2002.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Debora Sandova Mengoni and her husband John of Lititz; a brother, Francis of West Catasauqua; a sister, Sylvia Manogue of Danielsville; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, John; and an infant brother, Alexander.
