EHS boys start season 1-1

The Emmaus boys basketball team dropped its first two games of the season over the weekend.

The Hornets lost a nonleague game against Southern Lehigh Friday night, 46-41. They fell to Abington Heights on Saturday, 51-33.

On Friday, Chris Andrews led the Spartans with a game-high 23 points. Darryl Coleman chipped in with 10 points.

Emmaus’ Jayden Walsh (12 points) and Ryan Todd (11 points) led the way against Southern Lehigh. The Hornets held a 22-20 hafltime lead but were outscored 14-9 in the third quarter as the Spartans took a three-point lead into the final period.

Against Abington Heights, Emmaus faced a 17-9 deficit after the first quarter and was behind 31-16 at halftime.

Corey Perkins led the Comets with a game-high 19 points. Danny Bohman led Emmaus with 10 points. They were the only two players with more than nine points in the game.

The Hornets were schedule to open East Penn Conference play Tuesday at Parkland before hosting Northampton Thursday evening and then traveling to Nazareth on Saturday afternoon.
