Archivist elected to board

Nicholas P. Zmijewski, archivist at the Industrial Archives & Library, has been elected vice chair of the Governance Board of ArchivesSpace. Built for archives by archivists, ArchivesSpace is the open source archives information management application for managing and providing web access to archives, manuscripts and digital objects.

“We’re proud that Nick is taking on this important leadership role at ArchivesSpace,” said Stephen G. Donches, president & CEO of the Industrial Archives & Library. “It’s a clear recognition of the high level of professionalism Nick possesses in his field and the high degree of respect in which he is held by his peers in the library and archival community.”

Zmijewski has been Archivist at IAL since 2016, having been manager of the archives for the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania since 2009. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Wilkes University and is pursuing a masters in archives and records management from San Jose State University. Nick grew up in Cranford, N.J. and now resides in Lancaster, Pa., with his wife, Allison, and their twin children, Zoe and Logan.

Student a photo contest winner

The In Vision Digital Photography contest, in conjunction with the InVision pPhoto Festival has selected Liliana Brockway as the first place winner. She is a student at Lehigh Valley Academy.
