Hanover Township leaf collection began Oct. 21 and will run through the first week in December (weather permitting). Place debris-free leaves at the curb in a windrow (a small conical ridge or long, narrow accumulation of material). Don’t park vehicles on these windrows, as the vehicle may catch fire.
There is no set schedule for leaf pickup. The township website, www.hanovertwp-nc.org, will be updated regularly with the location of the three trucks. Trucks work north to south and volume and weather conditions affect pickup speed. Trucks are rerouted from their routes to clear drains and high flood areas prior to a forecasted rain storm.
The pickup areas are: Section I – East Allen border to Crawford Drive; Section II – Crawford Drive to Stoke Park Road; and Section III – Stoke Park Road to the Bethlehem border. The sections will not be started over until all three sections are complete. All three trucks may be in one section, or two may be in one while another section is completed.
