Walter W. Houghton, 99, formerly of Emmaus and Philadelphia, died Oct. 12, 2019, at Sacred Heart Senior Living, Center Valley. He was the husband of the late Bernadette A. (Fierko) Houghton. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Mae (Hickman) Houghton.
He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II.
He was employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus and was a member of the choir.
He is survived by daughters, Dr. Bernadette, Loretta McCollough (Thomas) and Anne Brady (John); grandchildren, Allison, Lindsey, Meghan and J.W.; two great-grandchildren, Colin and Emmit.
Contributions may be made to the St. Ann’s Church choir.
Services will be held 10:15 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 415 S. Sixth St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 9 to 10:15 a.m. Oct. 19 in the funeral home.
