Trojan cross country caps regular season

Parkland boys cross country team wrapped up a 16-1 season with a 5-0 showing in its final regular season East Penn Conference meet.

The Trojan boys beat Emmaus (23-32), Central Catholic (15-48), Whitehall (15-49), Allen (15-50) and Dieruff (15-50).

Parkland boys runners finished in the top two spots at the meet as the Trojans placed their top five runners among the first eight finishers.

Nate Reimer led the way, but teammate Ethan Warren was not far behind as both recorded a time of 17:17. Benjamin Esquieres (fifth), Christian Dzema (seventh) and Logan Iacobelli (eighth) rounded out the Trojans’ team scoring.

The Parkland girls team beat Dieruff (15-50), Allen (15-50), Whitehall (15-50) and Central Catholic (17-46), but lost to undefeated league champ Emmaus (19-38).

Ava Bendetti led the Parkland girls team with a fourth-place finish, followed by teammates Brooke Labenberg (sixth), Elena Wenger (seventh), Lauren Williams (10th) and Emily Beers (12th).

The Lady Trojans finished the season at 15-2 overall.
