EHS girls XC goes unbeaten

The Emmaus girls cross country team capped its second straight undefeated regular season by going 4-0 in last week’s meet.

Emmaus beat Dieruff, Allen, Whitehall and Parkland to finish 17-0 for the second year in a row.

The Hornets’ Hailey Reinhard took first place overall with a time of 19:54. Teammates Keerstin Augustin and Isabella Lees finished second and third, respectively, with both posting a time of 19:57. Kera Reinhard was fifth overall, while Madison Toretta was ninth overall to round out the Hornets’ scoring.

Emmaus teammates Clara Kennedy (11th), Kaia Berrio (12th), Ashley Ryan (14th) and Olympia Curley-Katrishan (15th) all finished in the top 15 overall.

The Hornet boys team finished its season 14-3 with wins over Dieruff, Allen and Whitehall last week and a 23-32 loss to Parkland.

Keeshav Shankar led the Hornet boys team with a third-place finish. Mark Magee (fourth), Ian Cox (third), Colin Schaffer (ninth) and Ben Shimer (10th) rounded out the team scoring for the Emmaus boys team. Teammates Cameron Carter (11th) and Paul Petre (14th) also finished in the top 15.

The teams move on to this week’s East Penn Conference Championships Tuesday at DeSales University.
