Fall is always a fun time of year, especially in Whitehall Township. There are several community and school events scheduled for Oct. 3-5 to celebrate the start of autumn.
Whitehall’s Halloween-themed parade is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and will be held rain or shine.
The parade will be staged and starts in the parking lot at Schadt Avenue Playground. The parade travels down Campus Drive and through the Whitehall-Coplay School District campus.
There will be a variety of community organizations represented, so be sure to come out and have a good time. There will be prizes awarded in a number of different categories.
New this year - the parade is planned for the same day as the Whitehall High School Homecoming bonfire. The bonfire is scheduled to start 6 p.m. Oct. 3 near the parking lot of WHS’ football stadium.
The Homecoming football game is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 4. The WHS Zephyrs will face the Parkland High School Trojans. Come on out and cheer Whitehall’s varsity football team to victory.
The Whitehall Township Fall Festival is planned for 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 5 in the main parking lot at WHS, 3800 Mechanicsville Road. The event will be held rain or shine.
There will be food vendors, crafts, school clubs, activities, music, tractor rides, horse-drawn carriage rides and more.
Happening simultaneously with the festival is the free car show sponsored by Eberhardt Motors. The car show will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the school district campus. There will be plaques presented during the event.
The WHS Homecoming dance will be 7-10 p.m. Oct. 5 for students. This school event is the cap on a fun-filled weekend in Whitehall Township.
