Alethea B. Shurskis, 99, of Myerstown, died Sept. 14, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Sigmund W. Shurskis, who died March 7, 1994. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy C. (Strohmeier) and William J. Cliff.

She was a 1937 graduate of Allentown High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree in 1941 from Moravian College, Bethlehem.

She worked as a school teacher in the Salisbury Township School District for 13 years.

She was a member of Lebanon Moravian Church and enjoyed quilting and needlework.

She is survived by a daughter, Katie and her husband, Michael Mihalko, of Myerstown; sons, Jim and his wife, Susan Gingrich, of Tennessee, Karl and his wife Alcira, of North Carolina; three granddaughters, Jennifer, Andrea and Marisa; brother, Thomas Cliff; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert, William and James Cliff; granddaughter, Danielle.
