Richard J. Casari, 79, of Schnecksville, died Aug. 6, 2019, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

He and his wife, Joan M. (Geiger) Casari, were married 33 years.

Born Nov. 1, 1939, in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Basilio and Anna (Arlotto) Casari.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peace-time era.

A case manager for the Welfare Department of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 10 years, he retired in 2001.

Before that, he worked in the textile industry in various management positions, the last being plant manager for the former Cerven Fabrics, Sunbury.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Nancy Dayton and her husband, Kevin, of Monterey, Calif., Jennifer Casari and her husband, Jim LeeMaster, of San Francisco, Calif.; brother Lou Casari and his wife, Pat, of Hazleton; grandchildren Henry and Anna Dayton and Isabella LeeMaster; three nieces; and one nephew.
