Fern E. Schlegel, 91, formerly of Hamburg, died Aug. 1, 2019, in Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, Kutztown.

She was the wife of the late Carl E. Schlegel, who died in 2011, and the late Charles W. Danenhower, who died in 1962.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Perma (Miller) Weiss.

A member of Friedens Church, Lenhartsville, she was a 1946 graduate of Allentown High School.

Her survivors include a son Keith C. (Justine) Danenhower of Kempton; stepson, Kenneth (Denise) Schlegel of Reading; stepdaughters Shirlene Epting and Carolyn (Sterling) Bower, all of Hamburg; sisters June Daniels of New Tripoli, Geraldine (Clemence) Gower of East Stroudsburg, Madeline Balliet of Slatedale and Catherine Shellhammer of Sinking Spring; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by siblings Warren D. Weiss and Millard Miller.
