Fellowship names president, CEO

Fellowship Community has named Mary Kay McMahon, RN, MHA, NHA, as president and chief executive officer. She had previously served as senior vice president, health care services with Phoebe Ministries.

As president and CEO, McMahon will be responsible for executive oversight of Fellowship Community. She will work with others from within Fellowship Community and the community at large to design and develop a business strategy for expanding the services provided by the Whitehall Township facility.

McMahon will provide leadership to administrative officers and department directors, assuring that performance is consistent with Fellowship Community’s mission and core values.

“We have searched diligently for a president/CEO with diverse experience in the industry, strong leadership skills and a commitment to adhere to our mission of providing Christ-centered care to our residents,” said Robert Erland, interim president/CEO and chairman of the board of directors of Fellowship Community. “After nearly a year, we have found a replacement for Robert Zentz, who held the position for 21 years before his passing. The board of directors has found the ideal president/CEO to lead Fellowship Community into the future.”

McMahon has experience in the health care industry, holding positions as executive director of Phoebe, Berks; nursing home administrator and director of nursing of Phoebe, Richland; and assistant director of nursing of Phoebe, Allentown. She began her career with Allentown Osteopathic Hospital as a medical-surgical nurse, critical care staff nurse and critical care nurse manager.

McMahon was cited as the LeadingAge PA Leader of the Year and has been a session speaker at numerous LeadingAge PA and Phoebe Institute on Aging conferences. She is the co-author of a published article, “Tele-health for patients with Parkinson’s disease: Delivering efficient and sustainable long-term care.”

She is a member of LeadingAge, Pennsylvania and national organizations, Pennsylvania Director of Nursing Association and Pennsylvania County Homes Association and serves on the advisory council of Lehigh County Aging and Adult Services.

McMahon received her nursing diploma from Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health arts and a Master of Science degree in health services from College of St. Francis. She is a licensed registered nurse and nursing home administrator.

Fellowship Community is a continuing care retirement community that provides Christ-centered caring for seniors at every stage of life.
