The Borough of Hellertown’s Water Street Bridge areas between Creek Road and Front Street, replacement project started on July 29 with an end date of Sept. 27.

During construction, Water Street will remain closed to all traffic. The posted passenger vehicle detour utilizes PA 412, West Walnut Street, Skibo Road, Meadows Road and Friedensville Road. The posted truck detour utilizes PA 412, PA 378, and Seidersville/Hickory Hill/Friedensville Road, Motorists are urged to use caution driving through the area.

The Water Street Bridge is anticipated to open to traffic on or before September 27, with additional work lasting into October. The bridge is not the property nor the responsibility of The Borough of Hellertown. The bridge’s maintenance rests with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
