NMIH Moonwalk film screening on July 2011

The National Museum of Industrial History will hold screenings of the Smithsonian Channel’s The Day We Walked on the Moon at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on July 20 at the museum, 511 E. Third St. The screenings are free with museum admission and for members.

The 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing on July 20 1969, “The Day We Walked on the Moon” covers astronaut Neil Armstrong becoming the first man to walk on the moon. Narrated by Mark Strong, it tells the story of how he got there through spectacular footage and interviews with key figures in the Apollo 11 mission, including astronaut Michael Collins and iconic Flight Director Gene Kranz. Further interviewees include Professor Brian Cox, Dr Brian May and key Apollo astronauts Frank Borman and Charlie Duke.
