The Doctor’s Office

While waiting in the doctor’s office,

as you look around,

people all are watching you,

at least that’s what I found.

I wonder what is wrong with them

and what they’re doing here;

Until I know what’s going on,

don’t want to go too near.

Although some people look quite well,

some others look real sick.

It makes you want to finish up

and get out really quick.

Some people have a real bad cold;

they cough and cough and choke.

You wish that they would leave the room, believe me, that’s no joke!

You almost feel the germs float by,

while waiting in the room,

And ‘though you did feel pretty good,

you start to fill with gloom.

You went there for a checkup;

just in and out real quick.

But, now that you have been exposed,

you’re feeling kind of sick.

Next time I see the doctor,

I think I’ll tell him this,

So he will understand when

some appointments I do miss!
